Legendary Norwegian artist IHSAHN has spent around a decade into his solo career. His sixth outing Arktis is releasing today via Candlelight Records/ Spinefarm Records. The release takes place just after the streaming of the album’s final track- Celestial Violence. The track leaves it’s listeners astounded and shows the musical ingenuity of this maestro.
The song starts off with soft piano chords and clean vocals that are relaxing and transcends into a sudden intense cymbal work where you can hear Ihsahn‘s signature screams are heard for few seconds before they fade out amidst the arrival of the piano chords. This song shows how progressive music with Black Metal elements and melodic passages can excel all boundaries and satisfy its listeners leaving a twist of them in a more clear cut fashion. The bass lines are prominent backed with some heavy drum pattern that can stir its fans.
This song can be an example of how heavy metal can be both aggressive and yet carry the artistic temperament that would leave a listener mesmerized. The track Celestial Violence also features, Einar Solberg of Leprous, who has been Ihsahn‘s long associate.
