Hyderabad witnesses its second edition of DEATHFEST and the seventh edition overall.

Deathfest has always brought out the varied forms of metal , be it
groove or thrash or grind or melodic and obviously the finest forms of death metal.

p4

PRIMITIV kickstarted the evening with their own form id pre – historic metal. With couple of intense covers of obituary and Led Zeppelin( primitive style) and the crowd favorite ‘Lords of Primitiv‘ the holy Moshpit was initiated. Tight And to the the point is how Primitiv rolls.

Setlist :
Lake Rancid
World War Zero
By the light (Obituary cover)
Lords of Primitiv
No Quarter (Led Zeppelin)
Taurus

Next up WIRED ANXIETY
Personally I heard a lot about this band and their music, I was
excited to finally catch them live. With their form of groove and influences ranging from deathcore to hardcore which got everyone pumped up and up for mosh by unleashing the Fleshbound Bloodhound. Again THEM BREAKDOWNS .They ended things with a sick cover of hammer smashed face and their own Test Subject: Human.

Setlist :
Fleshbound Bloodhound
Heavily Sedated
Severe Comorbidity (check out the lyrical music video)
Shades of Black
Focus 22
Hammer smashed face
Test Subject: Human

GROSSTY
This was my 4th time watching them live. And no matter how many times I keep watching them I just can’t get enough. Hardcore punk influenced with grind they portray a way of playing that just makes you want to move. If you can’t dance or move to GROSSTY then my friend you are missing a lot of shit. Even after the set ended , people wanted more and that’s what they got. Ultimate party scene is how I can sum up GROSSTY.

Setlist:
Stool Creamy Cake
Grounder Grind
Cop Hand
Crocopter
Death Roll
Saltie
Lunch Skipper
Froggy The Killa
Laugh At Their Lives
Crocking
Zit
TV is full of crap

HYDERABAD METAL LEGION
The machas of Hyderabad gave is what we wanted with covers from slayer, sepultura and PANTERA the crowd went apeshit. I’ve never seen such intense moshpits ever from People crashing into the monitors to people spearing each other. It was like a WWE main event.

Setlist :
Territory
Domination
Raining blood
Nomad
Mouth for war
Clone

THREINODY
These had the best stage presence of em all. Pure fuking thrash is what they are. Being around from over 17 years they bring out the thrash onslaught they’ve created over the years. The crowd witnessed raining blood again twice for the night and the moshpits kept going brutal. Now I’ll have to hear all their stuff and make my day.

Setlist:
In Extremis
Existential Schism
Mandatory Suicide
Raining Blood
Soul eater
Surrender to the Bla

DEMONIC RESURRECTION
DR played a memorable set consisting of ‘best of’ from all the albums they put out. With Sahil giving a brief intro of how the band came into existence and the member changes to the current lineup , they ripped up the stage with shear tightness. This was my second time watching them live and these guys probably are one of the best live acts in INDIA.

DR setlist –
From The Ashes
Apocalyptic Dawn
Journey To Solaris
The Unrelenting Surge Of Vengeance
A Tragedy Befallen
The Demon King
Death, Desolation And Despair

Even after a couple of changes in the Venue and the lineup , DEATHFEST was a great gig with exceptional bands

Big ups to the guys behind the event-
Phillip
Nitin rajan
Riju
Thiru for the best sound ever
And to all the people who showed up.

Cheers
